Property settlements involve the handling of a large amount of your money. Why take Risks?
What is a Settlement?
If you are the purchasers, settlement is the process by which you become the registered owner of the property or business and pay the seller. Likewise, if you are the seller, settlement is where you transfer ownership of the property or business to the purchaser and get paid by the purchaser.
When you buy or sell either real estate or a business, only a lawyer or an appropriately licensed settlement agent can charge you to settle the transfer of the property or business.
What we Do
- Search the title Deed, to ensure there are no legal impediments to settlement and if any do exist arrange for their removal.
- Check rates, taxes and other charges and apportion these between the parties.
- Undertake appropriate checks.
- Assist with the satisfaction of any relevant special conditions.
- Prepare all settlement documentation and statements required and arrange for you to sign any relevant documents.
- Arrange for stamping of documents by the State Revenue Department.
- Liaise with lending institutions and all other relevant parties, and organise settlement.
- Attend final settlement, exchange funds and documents, arrange for registration and lodgement of the documents with the Office of Titles or other relevant Government Agencies.
- Finalise all accounts and other matters and refund any balance funds we hold to you.
